Submissions Are Open For Ayr International Short Film Festival!

AyrISFF Logo

After the success of the Ayrshire Filmmakers Festival, we are holding a larger 2 day festival which will be called the Ayr International Short Film Festival. We are currently looking for a location in which to hold our event which will be in either June, July or August 2014.

Many film festivals ask for fee entries to enter films, as this is our first festival we would like to invite filmmakers to enter their films for free.

As ELGATO Film Productions we already have a number of sponsors from local businesses who would be interested in the film festival including The Basement Coffee HouseMinuteman Press, Crumbs and Cocktails etc.
Films at the film festival will cover all genres including drama, horror, comedy, family, sci-fi etc.
We have created a website for the film festival which you can see here: www.ayrisff.com and this will have all of the details of how you can submit your film on there!

The judging panel will be made up of Alberth MGMelanie Law and Simon Lyell who are passionate filmmakers from our community group ELGATO Film Productions.
There will be 4 awards at the film festival that will include Best Director, Best Performance, Best Sound and the People’s Choice Award. These awards have been kindly provided for us by our sponsor Reid Trophies from here in Ayr, Scotland UK.

We are also looking for a celebrity to come and judge the films as a guest judge. This venture will bring more tourists and other people to our beautiful town of Ayr, West of Scotland.

So get ready, get your camera and start shooting!
We are looking forward to receiving all of the film entries!

Pre-Production on Salem’s Forest has begun!

We are now working on the Pre-Production of our third short film Salem’s Forest. This will be a new challenge for our team as we are also writing the script for this film, but we welcome this challenge whole heartedly! This is a continuation from our sketch The Girl Sitting Next To Me, as we have had many people ask us what happened afterwards. So we have decided to create a short film to explain more about the story. We are very excited to be working on this project.

The process of this film will also be a lengthy one as we have a larger cast than our previous short films. This is an exciting time for our team, we will let you know more this in the very near future!

On Friday January 24th we held our public screening for our 2nd short film Skeletons in The Closet. We have had great feedback from the public who were there on the night. Crumbs and Cocktails kindly gave us the venue in which to hold our screening. As well as our film, we also premiered the Behind The Scenes of Skeletons in The Closet as well as our latest sketch I Confess!

On January 31st we released Skeletons in The Closet live on YouTube to the viewing public. We have been very fortunate to receive a great response in the comments and feedback to our Facebook and Twitter. We really appreciate all the support, if you haven’t already please check out the film here:
